About Us

St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral was consecrated on April 28, 1968 after over 56 years of thoughtful planning. The site on 2nd Avenue is also home to the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America, which is the spiritual headquarters for the Armenian Churches on the Eastern coast.
From the very first days of its consecration, St Vartan Armenian Cathedral has become spiritual and educational center for the Armenian community, hosting under her wings schools both for Armenian Language and Christian education.
Recently, in an attempt to make our Christian Armenian heritage available to all our students, we have combined both Armenian Language and Christian education programs in one curriculum, offered every Sunday, September through June.
We are always looking forward to seeing our students and welcoming more families. We are also very thankful for the support that we have been enjoying from our school families and from the community in large.
